Reflections of a Father's Love

Author Biography

Hello. My name is Brad Dawson. I live in Maumelle, Arkansas. The inspiration for this book was the birth of my first son, Tyler, who is now four years old. I am not a writer by trade. Actually I am a occupational therapist. The whole idea of this book actually had nothing to do with a book.

It all started when Tyler was about eight-teen months old. I was looking at some pictures that I had taken of him when he was an infant. It got me to thinking how the past year had flown right by. Like all new parents I began reliving all of those special moments that we had shared together. I had all of these thoughts and feelings and did not know what to do to with them. So I decided to write them down. I really did not know what I was going to do with these words but I wanted to give Tyler something to let him know just how much he had meant to me being in my life. Before I knew it I had finished writing it.

I shared my words with my wife, Lori. After hearing it, she suggested that I turn it into a children’s book. At first I was reluctant. I did not know the first thing about getting a book published. Then my wife said something to me that really put everything into focus. She said that all of these feelings that I had for Tyler were shared by every parent for their child except that most people could not put their feelings into words like I did. So with that being said my journey was about to begin. Over the next eight-teen months I poured my heart into making this book a reality .

From the first day he entered my life he has taught me lessons that I could have never learned from reading a book or taking a class. He has shown me colors of the rainbow that I never dreamed existed. I wrote this book for him to express to him all the love and joy that he has given my wife and me. I hope that you will find the same happiness reading this to your loved ones as I have reading it to Tyler.
